Morning Surgery

Open access Monday   – Friday 8.30am -10am

Patients wishing to see a doctor should arrive between these hours.  You do not need an appointment, but you should check in with reception on arrival to let us know you’re waiting. Whilst it is not possible to choose to see a particular doctor in the mornings, you will be seen by a member of the medical team.  Although we endeavour to see patients as quickly as we can, on busy days you may need to wait some time.

Afternoon Surgery

(Appointments only) Monday – Friday afternoons.

You can book an appointment for a specific time and doctor in the afternoons via reception or on line where available.

Early Morning Surgery

(Appointments only)  Tuesday morning 7.30am-8.20am

For patients who are employed and are unable to attend during working hours we offer an early morning surgery. Appointments for this surgery must be booked in advance.

Chaperones

All patients are entitled to have a chaperone present  for any  consultation, procedure or examination if  they feel they need  one. The chaperone can be the patient’s own choice. However, on some occasions a formal trained chaperone is required who could be a member of the practice staff.  Where possible we would ask you to discuss when booking your appointment.

Training Practice

Balfron HC is a training practice, which means we are accredited to train doctors in General Practice. This includes GP Registrars (qualified doctors training to become GPs) as well as medical students.  Sometimes these doctors will sit in on consultations. You will be informed of this in advance, and have the right to decline their presence if you wish. Occasionally you may be asked if a trainee can video your consultation – a consent form should be signed by you, but again, you can decline this if you wish.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
