Flu Vaccinations - 2017/18

The flu season will soon be upon us and we will take delivery of the vaccines shortly. This year, we have to apply the NHS eligibility guidelines as to whom we can offer the flu vaccine. We can offer the vaccine to patients who meet the following criteria.

  • Patients over 65 years of age. 

Patients who are under 65 and have an existing diagnosis of any of the following conditions;

  • Asthma
  • Bronchitis

  • Emphysema

  • Cystic fibrosis

  • Chronic heart disease/Stroke

  • Chronic kidney disease

  • Multiple sclerosis

  • Liver problems such as cirrhosis/hepatitis

  • Diabetes

  • Asplenia or dysfunction of the spleen

  • Being very overweight - BMI > 40.

  • HIV

  • Anyone who is Carer

  • Anyone undergoing chemotherapy treatment

  • Pregnant women (at any stage of pregnancy)
